Overview
This bill requires school bus drivers in New Jersey to undergo biannual, unannounced drug and alcohol testing. Drivers who test positive or refuse testing will be immediately ineligible to operate school buses. The Commissioner of Education will establish disqualification criteria and create an appeal process for drivers challenging test results. The bill also updates reporting requirements for school districts and contractors regarding driver testing.
