Overview
This bill, the Caregiver’s Assistance Act, creates a gross income tax credit for qualified caregivers who provide care and support to qualifying senior family members. To be eligible, caregivers must have a gross income below a certain limit and pay or incur qualified care expenses, such as for home health services or personal care. The credit is 22.5% of these expenses, up to a maximum of $3,000 per year, and can be combined with a dependent deduction for the senior family member.
