Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Education to take specific steps before withholding state aid from nonpublic schools that fail to meet certain health and safety requirements. The Commissioner of Education must first provide written notice to the school, allowing 60 days for corrective action or an extension. If the school doesn't comply within that timeframe, they must develop and submit an improvement plan for approval, receiving technical assistance. Failure to comply after the improvement plan is approved could result in the withholding of state aid.
