Overview
This bill proposes to exempt income earned by New Jersey National Guard members and active-duty military personnel stationed outside of the state from New Jersey’s gross income tax. Specifically, it excludes compensation received from the United States for service performed by individuals not domiciled in New Jersey and those domiciled in New Jersey but serving outside the state. The bill also includes allowances and mustering-out payments received during the taxable year. It is intended to provide tax relief for military personnel serving away from their home state.
