Overview
The Fairness in Women's Sports Act seeks to ensure that school-sanctioned sports teams are designated based on biological sex at birth. It prohibits male students from participating on teams designated for females, and establishes a process for determining a student’s sex if it’s disputed, relying on medical documentation. The bill also protects schools and institutions from adverse action for maintaining separate teams and allows students harmed by violations to pursue legal action.
