Overview
This bill prohibits individuals convicted of or found civilly liable for animal cruelty violations from owning, keeping, or harboring animals in New Jersey. It requires the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to create and maintain a public website list of these individuals. Furthermore, the bill mandates that municipal clerks and other animal-related officials notify the public about the availability of this list and its purpose. If a violation of animal cruelty laws is discovered, law enforcement can seize and confiscate the animal and petition the court for its disposition.
