Overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s public colleges and universities to create and maintain plans to improve cybersecurity and prevent cyberattacks. These plans must address system monitoring, risk assessment, breach response, and regular updates to reflect current security practices. Institutions are also directed to consult with the state’s cybersecurity office and report significant cyberattacks to the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, excluding routine phishing attempts.
