Overview
This bill updates the requirements for licensing residential substance use disorder treatment facilities and programs in New Jersey. It mandates that applicants undergo financial audits conducted by independent certified public accountants and complete criminal background checks. The Department of Health will deny applications if audits reveal improper practices or if background checks reveal convictions involving dishonesty or fraud. The Department will also conduct regular unannounced inspections of these facilities.
