Overview
This bill requires New Jersey nursing homes to allow residents, or their legal representatives, to use electronic monitoring devices in their rooms. The devices could include cameras, audio recorders, or video telephones. The nursing home must inform the resident and their representative of this right, and the resident or their representative is responsible for funding the monitoring. The monitoring must be conducted with plain view, protect the privacy of other residents and visitors, and require consent if the room is shared.
