Overview
This bill expands the membership and responsibilities of the State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Specifically, it increases the number of State agency representatives on the council to eight and requires the council to assist the Children’s System of Care in identifying and addressing gaps in services for children with disabilities. The bill also mandates the council to report annually to several state departments, detailing progress toward its goals and recommending strategies to address service gaps. Finally, the council will be responsible for assisting the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services in making recommendations on the implementation of the New Jersey Autism State Plan Amendment.
