Overview
This bill allows New Jersey police departments to donate unclaimed bicycles to nonprofit organizations. Currently, unclaimed property must be sold at auction. This bill would enable departments to donate bicycles if the owner cannot be found or refuses to take possession after six months. The nonprofit receiving the donation must be exempt from federal taxation. This aims to provide bicycles to those in need through charitable organizations.
