Overview
This bill prohibits automatic registration of newborns into the New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS). Currently, infants born on or after January 1, 1998, are automatically enrolled unless a parent or legal guardian opts out. This bill changes this requirement, stating that enrollment can only occur upon written request from the parent or legal guardian. The bill also clarifies access to registry information and establishes procedures for maintaining the system.
