Overview
This bill proposes to mandate a life sentence without the possibility of parole for individuals convicted of particularly brutal sexual assaults in New Jersey. Specifically, it applies to those convicted of aggravated sexual assault where the victim suffers serious bodily injury, or those convicted of sexual assault or aggravated criminal sexual contact involving a victim 16 years of age or younger who was threatened with a deadly weapon.
