Bill overview
This bill expands the Student Loan Repayment for Providers of Health Care in Underserved Communities Program in Nevada. It broadens the definition of ‘provider of health care’ to include speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, marriage and family therapists, clinical alcohol and drug counselors, assistant behavior analysts, behavior analysts, and certified problem gambling counselors. Additionally, the program is expanded to include public health professionals, such as county and district health officers and employees experiencing recruitment difficulties. The Account supporting the program will be renamed to reflect this expansion, and the bill includes conforming changes to ensure consistency.
