Bill overview
This bill revises the requirements for obtaining licenses as an architect, professional engineer, or land surveyor in Nevada. It temporarily allows applicants to demonstrate laureate status from the Pritzker Architecture Prize in lieu of passing an examination for architects. For professional engineers, it removes the requirement to pass a fundamentals examination before taking the principles and practices exam, and reduces the required years of experience for a waiver from 15 to 10. Similarly, for land surveyors, the bill eliminates the requirement to graduate from an approved curriculum and pass a fundamentals exam before taking the principles and practices exam, and reduces the required years of experience for a waiver from 15 to 10. Finally, it mandates that licensure examinations be administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying or an approved equivalent.
