Bill overview
This bill clarifies that members of the Nevada State militia, including National Guard and reservists, are considered to be on state active duty 24 hours a day while performing their duties. It amends existing law to ensure these individuals and their dependents are eligible for industrial insurance compensation if they are wounded, injured, disabled, or killed while on state active duty. The bill also clarifies how compensation is determined, based on the member’s average income prior to the injury or disability, and establishes a process for determining eligibility for benefits.
