Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) to create a Bereavement Counseling Program for family members and volunteer caregivers of veterans who died by suicide. The program will match these individuals with licensed clinicians to provide counseling services. The DMVA will work with Veteran Service Officers and funeral directors to inform eligible families about the program and assist with applications. Funding for the program may be obtained through grants.
