Overview
This bill authorizes the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to create and issue ‘Woman Veteran’ license plates for vehicles registered in the state. Applicants must provide proof of veteran status and pay an application fee of $50, plus annual renewal fees. Funds collected from these fees will be deposited into a dedicated ‘Woman Veteran License Plate Fund’ to support programs benefiting female veterans, including providing shelter for homeless veterans. The commission will not begin offering the plates until sufficient applications and fees are received to cover initial costs.
