Overview
This bill allows Class Three special law enforcement officers to provide security at places of religious worship, such as churches and synagogues, in addition to public and nonpublic schools and county colleges. It requires school districts that hire these officers for public schools to also hire them for nonpublic schools within the same district, with the school district responsible for the associated costs. The bill also clarifies certain training requirements and extends the availability of these officers to retired law enforcement personnel.
