Overview
This bill aims to protect New Jersey residents from excessive hospital charges for laboratory services. It sets a limit of 150% of the Medicare payment rate that hospitals can charge patients for these services. Currently, hospitals are prohibited from charging uninsured patients with family incomes below 500% of the federal poverty level more than 115% of the Medicare rate for certain services.
