Overview
This bill extends accidental death benefits to the surviving spouse or children of certain retirees from the State Police Retirement System (SPRS). It removes a previous limitation that only applied to retirees who died before July 8, 2019, and had a qualifying condition related to World Trade Center operations. The bill also expands eligibility to include those receiving ordinary, special, or service retirement allowances, and simplifies the application process by removing the requirement for a sworn statement.
