Overview
This bill requires the Commissioners of the New Jersey Departments of Health and Human Services to conduct language needs assessments for all offices and programs within their respective departments. These assessments will examine the linguistic diversity of service areas, identify unmet language needs, and guide the development of translation services to ensure materials are available in languages other than English. The assessments will also inform outreach efforts to connect linguistic communities with available resources.
