Overview
This New Jersey law prohibits the use of certain harmful substances in commercial foods sold to the public and in school foods. Specifically, it adds brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, propylparaben, and red dye 3 to the list of adulterated food ingredients. Additionally, the bill bans six artificial food dyes – red 40, yellow 5, yellow 6, blue 1, blue 2, and green 3 – from being served in schools.
