Overview
This bill expands the crime of bias intimidation in New Jersey to include the act of creating false public alarms. It aims to address intimidation motivated by race, color, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, or ethnicity. The bill also removes a previous provision that was deemed unconstitutional due to vagueness, and clarifies the grading of the offense based on the underlying crime.
