Overview
This bill creates criminal penalties for certain violations of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act. Specifically, it makes it a crime of the fourth degree for employers to knowingly falsify payroll records or make false statements on contractor registration forms. The bill also establishes a process for the Attorney General to intervene in cases where a county prosecutor might not adequately pursue the violation. These penalties are in addition to any existing fines or other consequences.
