Overview
This bill creates new crimes in New Jersey related to the sale or purchase of marijuana from businesses that lack the required license from the Cannabis Regulatory Commission. It establishes a third-degree crime for business owners to manufacture, distribute, or dispense marijuana without a license, and a second-degree crime for individuals involved in organizing or managing illegal marijuana operations. Purchasing marijuana from such unlicensed businesses will be treated as a disorderly persons offense. The bill also empowers law enforcement to shut down violating businesses and seize any marijuana found on site.
