Overview
This bill would establish a system for the State of New Jersey to reimburse counties for a portion of the holiday pay given to county employees who work on holidays while performing services for the state government. Counties would pay employees holiday pay at a rate of one and one-half times their hourly wage, and the state would then reimburse them for the amount exceeding the employee’s base salary. This reimbursement would be deducted from the county’s appropriations for the following fiscal year, and anticipated revenue would be included in the county budget.
