Overview
This bill prevents sewerage authorities in New Jersey from charging new connection fees to property owners when a property has been connected to the sewer system for at least 20 years and is undergoing redevelopment. Even if the redevelopment involves adding to, altering, or changing the use of the property, or requires relocating an existing connection, the fee is prohibited. Furthermore, the bill requires sewerage authorities to reimburse property owners who paid a protest connection fee before the bill’s enactment.
