Overview
This bill creates a three-year pilot program in six New Jersey municipalities with the highest crime rates. The program will provide grants to non-profit organizations to conduct outreach about the Victims of Crime Compensation Office and the assistance it offers to crime victims. Following the pilot’s completion, the Department of Law and Public Safety will submit a report to the Governor and the Legislature assessing the program’s effectiveness and recommending whether to continue, expand, or make it permanent.
