Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Supreme Court to dismiss charges, complaints, and arrest warrants filed in municipal courts that have been unresolved for at least five years. The Administrative Office of the Courts must also conduct studies to explore expanding existing dismissal programs and potentially implementing a ‘Fugitive Safe Surrender Program’ similar to one used in the federal system. The bill does not apply to municipal ordinance violations.
