Overview
This bill requires New Jersey physicians to complete implicit bias training to help them recognize and address unconscious biases that could affect patient care. The Department of Health, in collaboration with several state agencies and the Board of Medical Examiners, will establish approved training programs and a process for their approval. Physicians will be required to complete a minimum of two hours of training initially, followed by two hours every two years to ensure ongoing awareness and mitigation of these biases.
