Overview
This bill changes the rules about how municipal tourist development commissions can spend money on advertising. Currently, they must spend at least 50% of their funds on advertising outside the municipality to attract tourists. This bill lowers that requirement to 20%, while also clarifying what is considered ‘advertising outside the municipality’ to include any advertisement aimed at people who don’t live or work in the town, regardless of whether it’s also seen by local residents.
