Overview
This bill allows individuals aged 18 and older, as well as emancipated minors and their authorized representatives, to create ‘voluntary nonopioid directives.’ These directives instruct healthcare providers not to administer or prescribe opioids. The Department of Health will provide standardized forms for these directives, and healthcare professionals are protected from liability if they comply with these requests while still providing medically necessary care.
