Overview
This bill requires certain large solid waste incinerator facilities in New Jersey to install baghouse filters when they make changes to their operations, such as expanding or adding equipment. These filters help reduce air pollution by trapping particulate matter from the incinerators’ exhaust. The bill applies to facilities considered ‘major facilities’ that don’t already have effective filtering systems in place. Existing facilities with baghouse filters or better systems are exempt.
