Overview
This bill would allow spouses and dependents of military service members stationed in New Jersey to qualify for in-state tuition rates at public colleges and universities. Currently, these individuals lose their in-state status when the service member is transferred out of the state. This bill ensures that a spouse or dependent who was previously enrolled in a New Jersey institution and continues to attend will retain their in-state tuition benefits even if the service member moves. It also extends this benefit to dependent children who attended New Jersey high schools for at least three years.
