Overview
This bill will allow disabled veterans to obtain special license plates displaying ‘Disabled Veteran’ and a wheelchair symbol. These plates will permit them to park in designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, provided a valid, unexpired plate is displayed and the veteran or their driver is present. Revenue generated from the license plate application fees will be deposited into a new ‘Veteran Housing Fund’ to support veteran housing programs, after the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission covers the costs of producing and administering the plates.
