Overview
This bill proposes to provide a gross income tax exclusion for New Jersey residents who receive military compensation for service performed outside of the state. Specifically, it applies to compensation received by members of the U.S. Armed Forces stationed or deployed outside New Jersey for at least six months of a tax year, as well as certain housing and subsistence allowances. The goal is to recognize the financial impact of military service on residents while they are serving away from home. This change would be made to the state’s tax code.
