Overview
This bill directs the New Jersey Department of Health, in collaboration with the Department of Children and Families, to create a public awareness campaign focused on the Period of PURPLE Crying program and shaken baby syndrome. The campaign will educate parents and caregivers about the normal crying patterns of infants, the dangers of shaken baby syndrome, and preventative measures to ensure child safety. It also requires the Department of Health to report on the campaign’s progress to the Governor and the Legislature.
