Overview
This bill would allow paramedics, specifically mobile intensive care paramedics, to administer vaccines during outbreaks of communicable diseases. During an outbreak, these paramedics would be authorized to provide vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, regardless of the patient’s age, unless age restrictions are specified by that committee or the Department of Health. Vaccines could be administered through individual prescriptions, standing orders, or existing immunization programs.
