Bill overview
This bill requires all public schools in Nevada, including charter schools, to employ a full-time school counselor and establish a comprehensive counseling program developed by a school counselor. It removes a previous requirement that this employment and program development be contingent upon available funding. Furthermore, the bill adjusts school safety team requirements to ensure they include a school counselor, psychologist, or social worker if the school employs one of these positions on a full-time basis. It also modifies procedures for school safety teams to better address bullying and cyberbullying.
