Bill overview
This bill creates a transitional housing program for Nevada offenders who are eligible for minimum security facilities and have been previously denied parole due to a lack of housing. The program, in collaboration with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, will provide training in forestry management and conservation. Additionally, the bill requires the State Forester Firewarden to establish a hiring program to prioritize former offenders who previously worked in conservation camps and performed firefighting duties for positions within the Division of Forestry.
