Bill overview
This bill makes changes to how victims of crime in Nevada can receive compensation from the Fund for the Compensation of Victims of Crime. It standardizes the deadline for filing applications at 60 months after the injury or death, unless the victim was a minor at the time, in which case the deadline is 60 months after their 21st birthday. The bill also removes a requirement for reporting incidents to police within 5 days of occurrence and eliminates a previous rule prohibiting compensation to victims who don't cooperate with law enforcement.
