Overview
This bill creates a grant program within the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) to help families with childcare costs. It will reimburse parents or guardians whose children are enrolled in licensed childcare centers due to school closures or virtual learning related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is funded through a portion of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) block grant funds, and an appropriation of $500,000. Eligible parents must apply to the DCF commissioner for reimbursement of tuition costs.
