Overview
This bill would allow New Jersey municipalities to receive an exemption from paying fees to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for permits and approvals needed to repair damage caused by flooding. To qualify for this exemption, a municipality must demonstrate to the DEP that the required permit is necessary for flood damage repairs. The DEP will also provide municipalities with clear instructions on how to apply for this fee waiver and will share this information with other state agencies.
