Overview
This bill allows New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) officers, including conservation police and park police, to use drones to carry out their duties. Specifically, it amends existing laws to grant these officers the authority to arrest individuals for violations observed via drone surveillance, as defined by a previous law. The bill also requires the DEP to establish training programs for officers using drones and authorizes them to carry firearms.
