Overview
This bill establishes the New Jersey Tuition Reimbursement Program for Special Education Teachers. The program, administered by the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, will provide financial assistance to teachers pursuing master’s degrees or graduate-level coursework to become certified as Teachers of Students with Disabilities. Participants must agree to work as special education teachers in public schools for a specified four-year period in return for the reimbursement, and must meet performance standards to avoid repaying the funds.
