Overview
This bill amends New Jersey law to require health insurers, including those participating in the State Health Benefits Program and School Employees’ Health Benefits Program, to cover mammograms for women aged 35 and older. It expands coverage to include women under 35 who have a family history of breast cancer or other breast cancer risk factors. The coverage extends to include additional screening tests like ultrasounds and MRIs if the mammogram shows dense breast tissue or abnormalities.
