Overview
This bill amends New Jersey law to provide financial reimbursement to small municipalities when they handle court cases resulting in penalties for violations of fish and game laws, both state and federal. Specifically, if a municipal court case leads to recovered penalty money, 50% of that money will be paid to the municipality and 50% to the Division of Fish and Wildlife. There are exceptions for federal violations where the full amount goes to the Division of Fish and Wildlife unless federal law prohibits it.
