Overview
This bill changes the rules for transferring alcoholic beverage retail licenses in New Jersey when land is annexed from one municipality to another. Specifically, it allows a plenary retail consumption license used on annexed land to be transferred to the annexing municipality’s governing body. Furthermore, the municipality that annexes the land can then issue a new license to replace the transferred one, and population limits currently in place will not apply to these new licenses.
