Bill overview
This bill allows members of Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to perform traffic duties during emergencies and disasters. To do so, they must pass a physical exam, complete a training course, and take an oath. These volunteers would assist law enforcement by directing traffic on roadways or at public events, subject to approval and supervision. The bill also protects CERT traffic officers from liability when acting in good faith and within the scope of their training.
